At Kathmandu Garden House we value guest feedback as it helps us to improve our service. Here are some testimonials from our previous guests.
I have been doing business for many years in Kathmandu and always return here. A great budget option located minutes from the hustle and bustle but with a lovely quiet garden area to recharge the batteries. Not expensive and very helpful owners/staff. Yves, Sangita, Kumar will make sure you are well looked after. I always feel at home here.
Great location, near to Thamel but off down a relatively quiet side road. We stayed in the new building (they have two) and had a great view from our balcony. Saw mountains one morning, which I gather is unusual these days from Kathmandu. Had breakfast each morning in the garden of the older building just down the road. Wifi, hot water, friendly and helpful staff, and car parking for our hire bike. Hope to be in Kathmandu again and will definitely stay here.
I’ve stayed here multiple times. Paknajol is a good option if you want to be close to central area/Thamel but away from the madness! Garden House have a nice garden and rooftop for some quiet downtime and it’s away from the street noise and chaos of Thamel.
The staff are great – relaxed, friendly and helpful with booking flights, changing money, getting around etc. They are very honest and straight – for example they were very up front and will tell you it’s cheaper for you to get your laundry done elsewhere!
The rooms are clean and cheap and the overall room standard is just OK. i.e expect clean rooms and bathrooms but it could probably use a new paint job kind of thing! Actually over the time I have stayed there (I come to Kathmandu twice a year for 2-3 years) it has got cleaner I think. They won’t clean your room every day unless you ask.
The curd, muesli, fruit breakfast is good! But food wise I’d tend to eat out for lunch dinner unless I was very comfortable reading in the garden. You’ll probably find cheaper “local” restaurants but generally food prices are ok and cheaper than tourist orientated restaurants though with less selection.
So in summary if you are on a budget and looking for something near Thamel that is well priced, this is a good pick.
It was not my plan to stay in this small guest house at the edge ot Thamel, but in Bouddhanath which it is over rated, the place is clean and plenty space to sit, roof top, garden, reception… or in your room, this place had been clean and painted very recently so it is nice. the staff is sometimes no where!!! but if you find them there are very helpful and can help you, I like this kind of hotel where they don’t try to sell all the time something. I ask to see the other building but they don’t run it anymore… bit slow for breakfast…and for many thing but with a smile if you wonder if did understand what you are talking about? but over all it is a really good place if you don’t expect too much and i check many others places… well cheaper or more expensive and i don’t think comments are not always fair. as I don’t take any devices so I don’t know about internet but I saw peoples using it.
